Renaissance Mushroom Man
Stan Yockey is an enigma. First, he has two pugs that he may like more than most people and he collects hens on nests. You know the ones—the vintage candy dishes that adorn nearly every grandmother’s faux-oak china cabinet. This wouldn’t be so strange if Stan favored V-necks and Ricky Martin, but it’s entirely inconsistent with the turkey hide he’s tanning in his garage.

Inspired by Honey Take Three
Our study of honey concludes this week with the quiet image studies of photographer Chia Chong. On Tuesday, floral designer, Ashley Bailey, shares a design sprouting from an amber-colored honey-flower adorned vase. Thursdays are for eating and this Thursday is no exception with a recipe by Libbie Summers for honey cooked pork belly sandwich fit for a king and a president. The weekend concludes with beautiful, silly and informative behind-the-scenes shots that show the inner workings of our little hive during these three weeks. Sit back and get sticky heat.

The Life of a Dandelion
Driving along the many pastures on the long country road that lead to my childhood home in Mississippi, I learned early on to recognize certain flowers that preceded the onset of summer. There was one spot (right by that heavy metal gate that I dreaded having to get off my three-wheeler to open) where I knew to watch for the annual sea of dandelion blooms.
