Where Is He Climbing?
This mixed media piece definitely evokes a sense of grittiness and the waxy encaustic finish brings to mind the outside touch of deeply glossed eggplant. The dark colors, primitive man and bones emerging from the ground suggest a gripping story as all good art, worthy to be looked upon, often should.

In the olden days you’d throw down some scratch, call it a day and that was “keeping chickens.” Oh, and you had a stone-sharpened hatchet by the kitchen door and an old tree stump in the yard.
These days, a defining accessory – “good riddance” infinity pools, fasts cars and cute babies in aerospace industry engineered strollers – chickens both domestic and imported live at the level to which their owners are accustomed.
An Arrangement Only the Designer Can Love
I like to squat in lavish lobbies of The Ritz Carlton Hotels, but not for the welcoming TQM employee interaction or the freshly squeezed seasonal beverages. What has me wearing out my Ritz rotunda welcomes are the presence of the always over-the-top floral arrangements.
