It’s a new year and what better way to celebrate then start 2015 off inspired by one of our favorite tastes…garlic. We’ll pickle it, roast it, butter it, spice it and sweeten it, to reveal another delicious recipe after recipe as the week progresses. But today, we start with a simple photograph by Chia Chong that shows off it’s papery beauty. Join us this week as we celebrate garlic.
Food is our trigger to all design. Its color may inform our fashion, its texture may inform our artwork. Its shape may inform our interiors and its flavor will always inform our table. This week the diaphanous lacy layers of a spring onion just pulled from the ground inspires our lives. Today we introduce you to their overall beauty.
It’s the vendors at my local farmer’s market that make me get out of bed to fight for first pick of their fresh okra. Truth be told, I don’t like okra. What I love, are the people selling okra. Apart from the Cosby Kids, these peddlers of cheese, meat and produce are the coolest Saturday morning kids I ever shared a bowl of cereal with.
