So, there is this beautiful and chic little seaside community in Florida I often visit and call my second home, and well….it’s called Seaside. “Are those Wendy’s pearls?” is a frequent question asked by the annual overflow of multiple family tourists and even the locals. I hear it every time I’m there. Wendy Mignot’s pearls are quite a hot item in the area, because you see, these aren’t just your average knock off, run of the mill pearls, these are authentic hand picked Tahitian and fresh water pearls from the South Pacific. Wendy and her husband, Jean-Noel(yea, he’s French) both travel, hand select and co-create each piece. Wendy does the designing and Jean-Noel hand-drills each pearl and hand-rolls the leather. Once living the gypsy life on a sailboat traveling port to port in the Caribbean selling their designs, the Mignots have now grounded their traveling life with their two adorb children and their own gallery space in Seaside, Florida. So, yea…they are pretty cool, and a screaming blast to be around! This bracelet is one of my favorites from their collection, strung with layers of leather and Tahitian pearls. Of course I love it, anything strung with this much leather has to be fabulous!
